José Bayona – Executive Director, Mayor’s Office of Ethnic and Community Media
In December of 2021, Mayor Eric Adams appointed José Bayona as Executive Director of the newly created Mayor’s Office of Ethnic and Community Media. Bayona served as spokesperson for Mayor Bill de Blasio and held the title of Director of Community and Ethnic Media at the Mayor’s Office. He also supervised the implementation of Executive Order 47 in coordination with the Mayor’s Office of Operations and managed the City’s Community and Ethnic Media Directory for advertising purposes, which includes more than 350 ECM media outlets citywide.
